In this response to Bach’s D major Invention, the first half of the piece uses all the notes of each of Bach’s measures (including passing tones, etc.), scrambled up in a gradually accelerating flow. The second half is the original invention with decorations from the first half. Throughout, the piece plays with the metric ambiguities in Bach’s original.
