Notes
The Random House Dictionary defines soliloquy as “an utterance or discourse by a person who is talking to himself or is disregardful of or oblivious to any hearers present.” In moods ranging from brooding and pensive to light and playful to passionate and singing, Soliloquy II sustains a sense of private rumination and improvisation on motivic cells which appear in the first few lines.
