Reviews

Tom Flaherty’s Conversation, a first performance, made a brief but sweet interlude, inertwining and juxtaposing the instruments to plaintive effect. [Mark Hill, oboe; Robin Peller, flute]

This piece, sensitively played by Madeline Berkely (flute) and Helmut Seeber (oboe) is, as the title suggests, a dialogue between the two instruments in a lyrical, atonal style. And thanks for repeating this item. [Concorde]

Notes

Conversation for Flute and Oboe was written for flutist Robin Peller and oboist Mark Hill when we were all graduate students at Stony Brook. Its amiable opening gradually leads to good natured debate and eventually a heated argument. All is forgiven in the end, with a well earned and warmly embraced unison.
