| Quodlibet is a combination of nine tunes and fragments of tunes, all familiar from various beginning string books, and arranged for cello quartet. Twinkle is played continuously while superimposed on it, sometimes in unexpected places, are May Song, Lightly Row, Song of the Wind, Aunt Rhody, a French Folk Song, Old McDonald, and Jingle Bells. The Chorale is a setting of Twinkle with some surprising harmonic twists. Both are suitable for beginning to intermediate players. |
